Are mermaids real?
That may sound like an unusual question. I think it’s a fair question. Mermaids are synonymous with the sea. Dolphins are also synonymous with the sea. However past experiences tell us that we will see dolphins more often than mermaids.
Of course this is all one guy’s opinion. However it was a question from the little one, so it needed answering. I decided it was time for some Google search. Wow, there is a lot about the possibility of mermaids. Furthermore there is some fascinating folklore.
For example, it is said that the mermaid’s kiss can bestow special powers on a human. Oh snap, now things are really getting interesting! One of those powers is the ability to heal others. From this mythical perspective, there are lots of strange things about mermaids.
Their powers are also quite varied and encompass things like the elements and mother nature. There is even talk of invisibility and shape shifting! Careful about those thoughts, because mind reading is also a mermaid specialty!
Mermaids
Now we were all ears on this intel. It was no longer a question if mermaids were real. They were magic, therefore they were real. Six year old logic is ironclad. Now it was more a question of where they were. Obviously they are hiding. But where?
Since Google knew so much about this already, we were confident in the intel we were receiving. The search for the mermaid was on. Let’s go google!
Firstly mermaids usually hang out at about a mile below the surface of the sea. That certainly explained why they aren’t seen all the time. A mile is pretty deep. Secondly, they usually lived up to 300 years. Long enough for centuries to pass. No wonder they were so rarely seen.
Now we are truly considering mermaids and their mythical state of being. They are becoming more real, even though we have yet to see one. They have powers, they can bestow powers, and they are incredibly brilliant and magical.
Moreover they are partial to the full moon and in some ways, draw powers from it. According to folklore. With this in mind, we decided mermaids are real. Magical and real, and exceedingly rare and hard to find.
