Mr. Werlington’s flea circus (cont.)
The Clown
Halister searches the backstage area once more. He can’t understand where the flower has gotten to. It made no sense. He always kept the prop in his trunk. He goes through the trunk again to be certain that he didn’t miss it.
Once he’s satisfied it isn’t there, he closes the trunk and stows it in the common area that is shared with the trapeze artists. He would have to do the show without it. Halister closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, it would be ok, he could wing it. The act would be a few minutes shorter is all.
He leaves the backstage area and heads for the staging area just beyond the rings. The Ringmaster is working the crowd, and by the sound of things, it was a lively crowd.

Halister watches the Trapeze artists stretching and preparing for their act. They were the act immediately after Halister, and the other clowns. The majority of which were already loading into the fake clown car. Halister was the solo act clown. He worked with the other clowns but independently of them as well.
He enjoyed this way of doing the show because it enabled him to work among the audience and interact with the people. Additionally, it was the job of a clown to make people smile.
The Flower
Mr. Werlington was positively riveted. He enjoyed Halister’s performance every time he saw it! Furthermore the crowds did too! Oh was it ever magnificent to watch the cheers and hear the shouts of laughter and joy when Halsiter did his famous flower trick! Yes, the crowds loved Halister!
The show is spectacular and the clowns are so hilarious! Halister is charming and funny as always! Only this time he did not do the part with the flower. Halister is known for the bit with the flower and often has the audience cheering at the top of their lungs by the end.
No matter, it would have to wait because there was a visitor again. Mr. Werlington looks up from the flea circus and blinks dreamily. Who could possibly be here now? There hadn’t been a visitor in more years than he remembers but today there are two?
As he closes the box he notices a flower on the table beside him. Furthermore, it is Halister’s missing flower.
