Pocket Wilderness Conflict Subterfuge

Dan the duck blinks in surprise. He hadn’t expected anyone would be around this part of the pond. Especially not at this time of the morning. He quacks a greeting to the frog family, as he passes them on the way to the pond.

He waddles for the fastest part of the water. Peeking into the trees he checks the squirrel radar. He’s grateful the council increased pond security. Furthermore it was a step in the right direction. Dan and Anna had discussed this, and more as they had stayed up late the night before. They had been planning this day’s activities.

Pocket Wilderness

Dan enters the pond water feeling confident the alligator threat was low today. Moreover the squirrels had given the thumbs up! Dan still can’t believe the council had been able to agree on this security measure. They had agreed on nothing for a long time.

Dan paddles quickly this morning. He has an urgent mission to accomplish. Indeed it was official business, on behalf of Roy the rowdy Rhino. He thinks back to their meeting the other day, just after his close call. It had been such a surprise to see Roy in the pocket wilderness. Things have been weird since that parrot took over.

Not only have things been weird but also, many of the inhabitants of the pocket wilderness were leaving. Citing the unrest with the council, and now the daily appearance of the alligators, many that flee consider it a matter of survival.

Furthermore the news has spread to other pocket wilderness areas. Now they are in trouble on a bigger scale. In fact that had been one of the things Anna and Dan had been talking about last night. They had ducklings on the way and maybe it was time to go to another pocket wilderness.

Conflict

Dan shudders at the thought. He had grown from a duckling in this pocket wilderness. Similarly, he had wanted his little ones to grow up here too. He reaches the other side of the pond and steps onto the shore. It doesn’t take long for him to make it to the council area. Furthermore, he is eager to help Roy the rowdy rhino.

As he waddles his way to the council area he is stunned by how many of the inhabitants of the pocket wilderness are out and about today. Sam the sloth was extremely conspicuous in his haste. This wasn’t the only strange thing. The bunny rabbit clan was hopping toward the council area in force!

Additionally Dan was almost knocked over by a small herd of hurrying turtles. Not only was he getting concerned about this crowd but also he was nearly knocked on his tail feathers. What was the meaning of all this what was all the commotion?

Subterfuge

Dan is beyond concerned now. Furthermore, he isn’t sure how long his mission for Rowdy the Rhino will take, with this crowd. And as he nears the council tree, the badger family politely cuts across his path. This is a good time to find out what all the commotion is about, Dan thinks.

Dan asks Mr. Badger what the deal with the hurrying crowd was. Moreover, he is stunned at the stunned expression on Mr. Badgers face as he answers.

“Why hello Dan! I’m surprised that you have not heard the news! Consequently, we all want to see what happens! No one can believe it! The pocket wilderness will never be the same! Roy the Rowdy Rhino has been arrested!”

Dan blinks again. Anna was never going to believe this.
