Pocket Wilderness Conflict – Trial by flyer

Dan the duck is relieved. The wing cuffs are finally off. It had been a rough ride over to the Wilderness courthouse. Now Dan was standing in front of the warrant weasel. He can’t wait to smell the poo on this one. He watches as the paperwork is examined.

While he watches he thinks back to the pond, and the last few moments before the pompous parrot became lunch. It had been a very pretty day. The sun was shining and he could remember the way the voices of the alligators carried over the water.

That was what struck him as odd. They were not afraid of anyone overhearing them. Dan wrinkles his bill, contemplating. Indeed it looked like it was worse than that. The alligators were not worried about being discovered. Furthermore they already had the air of a conquering army.

Pocket Wilderness Conflict

Dan looks around at the processing area of the Pocket wilderness courthouse. There are flapping wings everywhere. Furthermore, the processing area held almost every winged creature in the pocket wilderness. Dan looks around and notices three cougar cubs from the cougar family. They are waiting just to the side of the processing area.

He is certain this isn’t a good idea. Furthermore, he didn’t want to be around when the parents came looking for the little ones. He can’t understand what the pocket wilderness legal department is thinking. Can’t they see what will happen?

Furthermore, getting the courthouse so full of pocket wilderness citizens was not smart. Dan shakes his head, this was not good. Not only did they have too little room but also the courthouse was becoming very crowded. Additionally, he wonders where the alligators have gone off to.

The warrant weasel hands him some papers and then he is led to a waiting area. Dan can hardly wait to see what they are waiting for. However, he has a hunch it will smell a lot like poo.

The Reflection Pool

The processing area was full to the brim. Dan watches as more citizens of the pocket wilderness are brought into processing. He feels incredulous when he sees the badger family brought in. They are all there, the entire badger family. Just this morning they had been going to school! What has happened to the pocket wilderness?

With this in mind, he feels relief that Anna and the little ducklings are safe. If not for his and Anna’s planning this could be much worse. The processing area is becoming even more crowded with recent arrivals. On the far wall a TV is blaring out the daily pocket wilderness news. Dan is paying no attention until he hears something that causes him great alarm.

The news anchor, smiling Sam the salmon, has just announced something about the parrot. Dan the duck jumps when he hears more of this report. He cannot believe what he is hearing. The parrot is ordering everyone to the wilderness courthouse. Furthermore, that isn’t the worst of it.

Dan blinks. He is trying to understand how the parrot can be saying anything. After all he had seen the parrot become an alligator’s lunch, mere hours ago. Furthermore, the parrot on the TV is assuring everyone the alligators were very friendly. In fact, it is now being encouraged to take selfies with them.

Dan immediately blasts out a few wing flappings! He feels upset and angry. This false report is now broadcasting for all the pocket wilderness to see. Furthermore Dan knows the parrot is no more. Therefore, the pocket wilderness is without a leader. He is about to quack this news out loud when a rumbling begins to shake the floors.

Now everyone in the wilderness courthouse feels it too. There is a great unsettling as a loud voice booms through the air!

“Attention citizens of the pocket wilderness! Leave now! The courthouse is under attack! Flee now! Run!” The loud voice continues to issue the warning as many in the courthouse peer outside to see who it is.

Within moments there are cries of Rowdy! And then, “It’s Roy! Look there he is fighting an alligator!”

This is the signal that broke the spell. The entire pocket wilderness citizenry in the courthouse, erupted into a great awakening, and blew the roof off the courthouse.

The alligators suffered a great defeat. Additionally the pocket wilderness received an upgrade in security. They put Rowdy Roy back in charge of the Pocket Wilderness. Dan the duck joined Rowdy Roy’s cabinet and worked diligently with Roy and every other citizen of the pocket wilderness to keep their home safe and secure.

Anna and the little ducklings returned to their nest in the pocket wilderness. And here they lived together with their friends and family and learned a great lesson from the days of the pocket wilderness conflict.
