Secrets of the Realignment-The retrieval of Jupiter’s heart

The interior of the limousine is extravagant. Emma is sitting in the rear of the vehicle. Alone. The gentleman who met her just shy of her front door stands outside the limo facing her house. Who the hell was this guy? Furthermore who the hell was this Callisto? And more importantly, what was going on? One thing she is sure of, this isn’t Detective Laraby’s doings. This was a league above that.

She gazes around the space in the limo. It is designed to be luxurious. Furthermore, it has room for more occupants than one. There is also the suggestion of great quality in the extravagant detailing of the accessories. Emma feels certain that this Callisto must be the owner. The goon outside the limo works for him too. It looked like her beef was with Callisto then. They needed to have a realignment meeting.

Now she feels her ire begin to rise. This is ridiculous. Being held prisoner in a limousine. And in her own neighborhood no less. Now she begins looking for the door locks. Or a door handle would do nicely. In fact, at this moment she would be happy with a window crank. One of the old fashioned ones that spins around and lowers the glass. She is beginning to feel panicky, when the giant man turns and lowers his face to her window.

Secrets of the Realignment

Chief Fred Jones Sits across from Laraby. He has just learned of Laraby’s unfortunate mishap. Furthermore, he is trying to remain calm, while he digests the ramifications of the news. This was not good. It damn sure wasn’t a coincidence. Which meant it was nowhere near good. He is debating whether or not to suspend Laraby’s badge when a thought occurs to him.

“Did you question the two kids after you lost your badge? What are their names Laraby?” The chief looks questioningly at Laraby before answering his own question. “Eric and Emma! I remember now. Did you talk to them after you realized your badge was missing? Because something just isn’t adding up Laraby. And you know how I feel about loose ends.” The Chief stares hard and long at Laraby. It’s time for a realignment and he’s still waiting for an answer.

Eric stares in disbelief. Although he is aware of who this man claims he is, it just can’t be possible. He and Emma have had a lot of research time since the days of the shipping containers. Furthermore, it became clear early on that one of the children was lost in the war.

As he stares at Callisto, the disbelief must have been evident on his face. Because in next moment he smiles at Eric again, and sighs softly. Then he reaches in his jacket pocket and withdraws a small device. His eyes never leave Eric as he brings the small instrument closer to his mouth. Then he quietly issues a command. “Bring her in Titan.” Then Callisto returns his attention to Eric.
