Snail Mail Makes a Comeback – Tortoise and the Hare?

Snail Mail Makes a Comeback – Tortoise and the Hare?

Couldn’t help but make this comparison when I checked the mailbox today. There it was, that particular envelope I had been waiting for, on the day expected. How cool is that?

Several weeks ago a document needed to get into a file in a cyber file cabinet. I didn’t sweat it, I can get a movie downloaded in a few minutes (faster than it used to be) and be watching it in no time.

I sent the document on a data stream to a cyber file cabinet. An email arrived explaining that in a few weeks, it will be uploaded. Got a follow up email asking how my experience was, I sent a one word reply – slow.

Tortoise

When the mailbox opened and my real world mail was laying there smiling up at me, I smiled at it. Took a nano second.

Then it dawned on me that opening the mailbox is like unwrapping a present. Except on days when there’s no mail. Opening a present that’s wrapped and empty is a prank.

Once upon a time the mail came by pony express. It was all about the delivery. Took a few weeks, and it was dangerous work, but the mail always got through. That kind of reliability is hard to ignore.

In today’s world ponies are off the hook and express is so express there’s only time for two letters- ex. (fedex)

It’s awesome!

Hare

I’m sure they’ll get around to fixing the drawer on that cyber file cabinet. I’ve heard those things stick a lot.

In the meantime, snail mail is making a comeback and the tortoise and the hare comparison fits well.

it’s a safe bet uploading a document using my real world mailbox still works great. It even has a little red flag to signal it’s ready! Requires manual activation but still works in any kind of weather!
