Terms of the stalemate a lesson in time.

Learning a lesson is never easy. In fact, it’s a pain in the tail sometimes. And that’s if everything goes well. One of the toughest things about learning lessons, is all the arduous work involved. Maybe that’s what makes them memorable. As the saying goes, nothing worth having, comes easy. If only that philosophy didn’t require such extreme sacrifice. Because if it didn’t, improved quality might be more common.

Or not. The idea that quality requires effort, negates the concept of standard, basic, standalone quality. For example, a positive work ethic. There are some professions that demand it. Roofers and carpenters understand this, as well as block masons and landscapers. Those are professions that require effort for pay. The roofer that does not get the roof covered is not paid. The block mason that does not lay the foundation block, isn’t paid. The work must be done, or no pay changes hands.

And while it’s been interesting to see the amount of work an elected body of officials can actually avoid, it’s time to get to work. There are a handful of elected officials holding an entire country hostage by the purse strings. Oh the irony, that a stalemate about integrity and honesty is supposedly based on integrity. Some think it’s a positive step to have honest elections without fraud. Big argument about ID. Ever notice how ID has to be used everywhere? It takes ID to get a cold medicine delivery from a delivery app.

Terms of the Stalemate

It’s been going on for months. Yet somehow paychecks still flow to the very people who refuse to do any work. Someone else pays the bill, of course. It’s usually the constituents, and voters. These days many of those bill paying voters are the very people not getting paid. Meanwhile the elected representatives get paid. Additionally, they get to keep their full perk packages. They never have to worry where the next meal is coming from.

stalemate

With this in mind, while many legitimate voters pay close attention to more than the mainstream media cares to admit, fraud and theft is conveniently left in the dark. If not for the app – X, and other brave reporters and journalists, including podcast hosts and influencers of many different niches, there might still only be one side of the story. Just like the COVID days of old. Just one side of the story and that’s it folks. Nothing to see here.

Five years later, and oh…by the way, one side of the story was conveniently obscured. There likely were some extenuating facts. However, that’s ancient history. Nothing to see here. Look over there at the aliens! Do they really exist? Are they from outer space? We decided it’s time to tell the truth. And we are definitely working to get to the bottom of what is disinformation, and what is not actually true. And as soon as we don’t know anything, you will too.

A Lesson In Time

The problem, is time. Eventually, time will run out. The consequence of a stalemate is ultimately, unavoidable compromise. In other words it’s a game of chicken. Someone will have no choice but to yield or blink first. Furthermore, when it does happen, it will be to much grandstanding about the value of compromise. Meanwhile the voters are taking out loans to pay the interest on the missed payments from the damn shutdowns.

stalemate

Oh yeah, better get those taxes ready. It’s almost the April 15th deadline. And while there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of concern where those tax dollars go, there is certainly a great effort, and concern, about gathering them up. They must be important. Maybe they go to some kind of cover your ass fund. Surely not. Surely there is no such thing as a fund to help pay off and silence victims of inappropriate behavior while on the job.

Even if there were such a thing, apparently there is also a huge priority to protect it. The stalemate ended briefly, so that a unanimous vote could happen. A vote to protect the hush money fund. Yes, many people were watching. Double standards, back room deals, or no standards at all. These are elected officials. It’s unfathomable why there needs to be a multi million dollar fund to pay off settlements for illegal behavior.

Ongoing Stalemate

As expected the stalemate is still going full steam ahead. This is definitely an opinion article. Furthermore, it is the less salty version. There are real opportunities to improve this country. With any luck we will begin to focus on those issues. Although it should have nothing to do with luck considering the elected officials are duly elected. Many people do not get to keep their jobs because they are just lucky.

They certainly wouldn’t deliberately create a stalemate to hurt one group of people by hurting another group of people. That would be just plain unethical. Oh yeah, I forgot. Well, then it must be about money. Although not in the way it should be. One powerful solution would be mandatory term limits. No one in Congress should have the chance to spend decades sitting in the same seat. That’s not representation. That’s special interest, deep pocket manipulation. In other words, politics.
