A carnivore and the easy grilled cheese sandwich

A carnivore was in search of food. It was late in the afternoon and lunch was several hours ago. It was time to prepare for dinner. Chicken was on the menu. Also a good recipe for dinner was already simmering.

Then the grilled cheese sandwich walked in and changed everything. That is how the vegetarian version of this article plays out. The carnivore is astounded by the amazing qualities of the grilled cheese sandwich! Suddenly, everything makes sense. Furthermore, the grilled cheese sandwich saves the day.

In fact, some or all, of the preceding story is true. Furthermore, that was a good grilled cheese sandwich. Carnivores aren’t impressed with the grilled cheese sandwich. The chicken is way more interesting and appetizing.

A Carnivore

With this in mind, what gives the grilled cheese sandwich the power to tempt the carnivore? What’s so special about the combination of butter toasted bread and cheese? How is that better than a slab of grilled barbecue ribs?

Whoa! Hang on now, maybe better isn’t the right word. Clearly, that is a slab of seasoned and smoked barbecue ribs. With a side of grilled chicken breast. However, the grilled cheese sandwich was hot, and fresh, and toasty.

Real butter was used when toasting the bread. Additionally, the bread was sliced bread, so it took to the butter like a duck on a June bug! Likewise, the bread was pan seared over a medium low heat. With a dollop of butter. Ample time had been allowed for the pan to preheat.

Grilled Cheese

The cheese was American cheese. Kraft cheese. Indeed, the good stuff. The sandwich had a few minutes to heat on one side. Until toasty, and lightly browned. Then, it was turned, for even toasting. And melting.

Careful attention was given to the melting of the cheese. Keeping it all, in sandwich, was the goal. Furthermore, the crust is very desirable. Thanks to the toasted butter effect.
