Butterbeans and better returns

Alex looks at the group surrounding them and considers the request carefully. It seems that Butterbeans is already on board. She huffs a bark at him again. Now Alex notices Butterbeans is watching him closely. He feels a little surprised at Butterbean’s eagerness to go back underground.

The special agent is allowing Alex time to mull things over, however Alex suspects they anticipate his and Buterbean’s cooperation. They had, just survived an extremely close encounter with the unknown creature. Therefore their experience was now, invaluable.

Alex accepts the mission and is relieved when the Sergeant and Lieutenant are assigned to assist them. He looks at Butterbeans trying to assess her condition. The climb back out of the deep pit, had been intense and stressful.

Butterbeans and better returns

However, the wagging tail ,and exuberant expression, spoke volumes. It seemed Butterbeans was in top form, and ready for another adventure!

With this in mind, they led to a waiting mobile command center where they are given new equipment. The response teams and members of the original base have already set up temporary tents and resupply stations. It looked as though they were settling in for an extended mission.

Butterbeans trots in front of Alex and leads the way to the food tables being set up near the outskirts of the base. She is more interested in this than the boring talk. She hopes they will eat soon. There is also hope they will be back after it soon. She did not fear it any longer. When she had fallen into its nest, she had realized it was a parent, protecting offspring.

Now she feels curious. Additionally she feels a slight sense of wanting to help in some way. However, it is her curiosity that has her feeling eager to return to level 113. She is hungry. She is ready to help Alex.

Better returns

Alex watches Butterbeans closely. He can sense her eagerness to return to the depths of level 113. Yet he is unclear on why. For his part, he is grateful to be of assistance to the base, and does not mind a return below ground. Especially considering his partner. He smiles at Butterbeans. She huffs a low bark to him and starts eating her food.

Alex follows suit. It wouldn’t be long, and they would be returning to level 113. Alex can’t help but wonder what strange and unknown surprises are ahead. He watches Butterbeans as they chow down. Level 113 was still a mystery and they were about to embark on round two.
