Butterbeans and the eternity gate

There are many differences between our species. However, there are just as many similarities. Our arrival in this world meant the primitive nature of the original inhabitants was known. Our civilization was many times more advanced.

Therefore, there was no concern, with the usurping of our technology. The inhabitants of this world were primitive. Furthermore, we were hiding. For centuries we were able to peacefully exist without discovery. It was the eternity gate that facilitated our journey to this world.”

It is the eternity gate that saved us from the destruction of our home world. Consequently, it is the eternity gate that brings us together now.

Butterbeans and the eternity gate

Alex listens with rapt attention. The sense that this was much bigger than he knew, was growing. Butterbeans stands and walks over to the wall of this strange place. Then she begins exploring. Something has caught her attention.

Alex tries to understand where this is leading. Furthermore, he feels astounded at what he has already learned. The eternity gate is the strange glass-like portal they found in the valley below level 113. Not only does this answer his top question, but also it creates several more.

For example, what next? Butterbeans has circled the entire chamber, exploring. Alex can tell she is on to something. However, he isn’t in the loop yet. Additionally, he feels the energy in the chamber change, subtly. The eternity gate seems to shimmer in unusual patterns. Alex watches it as the entity made of light speaks again.

Eternity Gate

“Our time for planning, is short, and grows shorter by the second. Even now, an attempt to enter the gate is being made. However, it will not succeed. The ones who seek the gate, and its secrets, are persistent. Therefore, it is only a matter of time before progress is made, in some way. This must not happen.”

Butterbeans looks up from investigating. Alex is learning. She can sense his fascination. However, there is a great deal of worry in his voice. Butterbeans knows the situation is serious. They are being hunted by the special agent. However, Butterbeans isn’t overly concerned with this. She did not like the agent to begin with. He smelled heavily of deception.

Nevertheless she was confused by a strange and almost invisible scent, that was slowly permeating the area. She hadn’t noticed it at first. It was almost an invisible scent. However, the longer they were here, the more it grew. Furthermore, she was feeling as though she would like to nap.

Orders

The Sergeant looks at the Lieutenant again. He is wanting to disobey an order. If the Lieutenant decides to ignore this, they would be able to help Alex and Butterbeans. Otherwise, there was no way this ended well. The Lieutenant nods to the Sergeant. They must obey the orders of command is what that nod says.

The Sergeant affixes the last of the hoses into the portal and stands back. There are more agents now. Additionally, they begin unscrewing the valves of the cylinders attached to the hoses. The Sergeant knows what’s in those cylinders. Furthermore, he fears that Alex and Butterbeans are now, in terrible danger.
