Butterbeans and the hidden connections

Down below. Then even further down below she goes. She has already passed the nest. It is still undisturbed. She knows the old thing will return soon. However she must continue. It is her imperative to get them to the point she is trying to show them.

She dodges more falling rocks. Soon the whole place would be an enormous below ground cavern. The climb down isn’t the steepest she has ever faced. Furthermore, it doesn’t have near so many obstacles as the course her and Alex trained on.

She continues downward. The steep path has become just that now. A regular path and she is able to trot now. This is good. She feels the need to hurry. They have limited time now. Soon all their chances to fix this would be gone. She pauses to hear that strange sound again. She couldn’t make that one out, but she was staying alert just in case.

Special agent Thomas sends his assistant off with his orders. The team down below was safe. However, that had been a close one. They hadn’t anticipated an equipment failure. Furthermore the fact that their team survived the accident, and is now beginning their mission, is a testament to their training.

He decides to get a back up generator in place for what is ahead. He regrets that he isn’t able to inform the team of every detail. However some missions were strictly, ‘need to know‘.

He receives a message from his agent with the team. They are well and beginning the hunt. However, they have lost Butterbeans. Agent Thomas does a double take. He is fond on Butterbeans and momentarily assumed the worst. Therefore he is relieved to see it is a lost situation.

It isn’t lost on Agent Thomas that Butterbeans and Alex have a special bond. That bond has made them one of the top recon teams in the country. Furthermore their list of accomplishments is long. Not only did they come highly recommended but also with a pristine reputation. Now their hunt begins in earnest.

Hidden Connections

Alex has his screen set up, and he is searching. The rest of the team has begun clearing the passage that will lead them to the lower level. Level 113. His instincts tell him that Butterbeans is okay. His worry for his friend tells him to hurry. And he does.

His screen is a tracking setup. He uses it for Butterbeans and him to keep track of one another. Well, to be fair, this is how Alex is able to track Butterbeans. She, on the other hand, has a built in tracker that she is very good with.

He adds some clips to his screen, and affixes it to his pack. Now he could track Butterbeans while he was on the move. Additionally he has discovered she is indeed a level below them and moving at a steady pace.

Alex can see that she is leading their team to some unknown circumstance. Furthermore, he is astounded to see the additional details his screen is showing him. They are into much more than he thought and it was time to bring the Lieutenant up to speed. They were all in way deeper than they knew.
