Butterbeans and the water glass

It had been a long day. Also it had been a long way down. Butterbeans races across the valley floor. She is eager for everyone to arrive. She is glad they will finally see. Furthermore they are not in any danger at the present time. Butterbeans knows the underground creatures, the old things, are away.

With this in mind, she is running with all her might. Also she is feeling excited about this discovery. She knows Alex will also be excited to see what she has found. This is what was being protected. She races around a small pond and continues toward her discovery.

Butterbeans and the water glass

Alex is first down the side of the chasm wall. From there he resets his gear, and begins tracking Butterbeans. It is becoming increasingly difficult. The tracking system is malfunctioning. Something seems to be interfering with the signal.

As he looks around, he feels amazed at the immensity of the underground cavern. Somehow there is light. Real sunlight, which suggests there is some opening somewhere, high above. The rest of the team is making its way down. However, Alex is already after Butterbeans.

He is able to see from the tracking screen that she is roughly a quarter of a mile ahead. The image seems to vanish from there. It’s as though there is a blank zone. Nevertheless as he moves forward, the tracking indicator on the screen, vanishes. Alex feels a knot of apprehension inside, and he begins jogging to make up time.

Water glass

She has arrived at the water glass. It is shimmering and extremely large. Furthermore, she is careful to avoid touching it in anyway. As she circles the smoothly glistening object, she can feel her fur being tugged and moved. There is much in this strange thing. It has the scent of the old things. It has the scent of places she has never encountered before.

With this in mind, she is certain Alex will be as amazed as she was, when she first sensed it. She turns and paces alongside the strange glowing object. Alex is on his way and the team will soon follow. She feels her excitement brimming over, and she yips, and paces nervously. This was an amazing discovery.

As the special agent follows the Sergeant down the chasm wall, he thinks about their team. They would soon arrive at the anomaly. In fact, the special operative Butterbeans is already aware of their objective. He holds for a moment as the Sergeant unlatches and gathers equipment.

The unknowns

They had known about the anomaly quite some time ago. Furthermore, that is the main reason level 113 was the final level, in the underground facility. They were sure of some of their information, but completely in the dark on most of it.

One thing is certain, they had had no success until the special operatives Butterbeans and Alex had joined the team. Now things were happening at a rapid pace. Additionally, the discoveries they have made over the last few days, have eclipsed the previous year, by leaps and bounds.
