The stars are beautiful. Daniel watches them and wonders which one is his. He also wonders what it must be like there. It was summertime here. Based on the revelations he learned this morning, this is a fraction of what his real home has for a summer.

He shakes his head. More to get it around his new reality, than to clear it. He had two weeks. Two weeks to uproot his life, and prepare for a world changing move. He feels so upset with his parents right now. Then, an insane thought follows; were they even really his parents?

Furthermore, how could he even be sure he was getting the truth? After finding out his parents had hidden everything from him, he felt like he couldn’t trust anything now. As he walks home, he thinks about the dance. It was a yearly get together for high school. Daniel had mostly watched. He didn’t feel much like dancing.

In fact, he had tested his parents while he was there. That’s why he feels so upset. Everything they had told him was spot on. He concentrated on seeing the rest as his parents had told him. And he saw it. What had really scared him, was being invisible.

He shudders, remembering how alone he felt while no one could see him. Additionally, he could see so much more in that state, than he could now. In fact he wanted to go back. Seeing everything was exhilarating now that he knew about it. However, his parents had instructed him on discretion. Furthermore, their need for secrecy was paramount.

Daniel nervously looks around. The irony isn’t lost on him. Even though he is young. Every video he’s seen about extra terrestrial encounters, couldn’t have prepared him for this. When he tries to put that, with what his dad had told him about his home world, he can’t get his mind around it.

He has a home world. Other than the one he currently stands on. He rounds the corner, and turns down his street. He is trying to think of what he wants to do most before they leave. His father says they must be ahead of what is coming. Yet, when pressed for details he wouldn’t say what. He only says he won’t have Daniel become a part of it.

Daniel stops cold. There are cop cars, and official government looking vehicles all down his street. Furthermore, the activity seems to center around Daniel’s house. Instinctively he begins running to his parents. Fear grips him, as he sees his home whoosh ferociously, into an enormous fireball in the night.

He runs, and screams for his parents. Twenty feet later, he is knocked sideways. And then he trips and falls. He lands hard on the ground, and loses consciousness, almost immediately. Whereupon he is quietly dragged away, into the shadows of the night.
