Fun With the Monkey Bars
The other day was a playground day. It is the best fun to go to the playground, especially for kids. It was fun for me too, but the visit was for the kids.
The playground was modern. It had swings, slides, tunnels, and more. In fact, it was so cool, the kids didn’t want to leave when it was time to go. That’s the mark of a good playground.
It was also adult friendly, which was another mark of excellence. Although, the tunnels were a little cramped.
Monkey Bars
While out and driving, I came across another type of playground. More like an old school playground. It certainly is more like the ones I remember as a kid. It has monkey bars.
This wouldn’t be big news, except these are the old school, break a rib if you fall, monkey bars! That’s right! The fun ones! Ah, such memories on these bars. The top is the place to be, so I climbed on up.
The view was gorgeous. The seating was every bit as awkward as when I was a kid. However, it was fun, and it amounted to exercising. It was actually more fun than work, and more work, trying not to bust my ass.
But it was fun. That was always one of the biggest draws to the playground, fun with the monkey bars.
Fun
The old school playground relied heavily on elbow grease and imagination. In the same way, all the fun, was seriously good exercise. It was seriously fun coming back down from the top of the monkey bars too, it sure didn’t look that high from the ground.
There was another feature of this area that was just as old school as the monkey bars. The old school slide! Yes, the one that gets hot enough to fry an egg! Those are so much fun, 3rd degree burns notwithstanding. This old school slide has just the right amount of incline for a fast trip.
Climbing to the top took some effort but the trip down was totally worth it. It felt like exercise, but it was more like fun. Can’t wait to go back!
