Hawkeye hunter, an inverse tale

The first time wasn’t the last time. Which meant it hadn’t been a fluke. He scans the terrain once more, before moving to the next hunting ground. The other hunter, is circling another feeding ground. With lazy spirals and willful maneuvers, the other hunter covers every square inch of the chosen field.

The first hunter watches all this from a distance. The movements are graceful and mesmerizing. However, he must go. This hunting field is empty.

Days later the two hunters cross paths again. Each in their chosen field yet inexorably related. The first hunter is covering the field with purposeful movements. There is skill but also deliberate hesitation. Additionally the weather has turned. The chill of the increasing wind is changing the game.

The other hunter, or the hawkeye hunter, is also skilled and uses the wind for advantage. Swiftly climbing then leisurely spiraling, all the while surveying. The strategy is in the movement, and the view of the first hunter, is uninterrupted.

With this in mind, the first hunter also adjusts the course. There may be something to learn from the not so random encounter. Some time later, both hunters leave the field. The wind has turned the weather to storm.

Time to weather another storm.

Days later, the two hunters begin again. There is promise on the hunting field, and the season is in full bloom. The weather is perfect for the hunt. Aware now, they watch, one for the other. The first hunter moves gracefully along the chosen course. Within minutes, the other hunter is maneuvering purposefully through the connected hunting fields.

Faraway

The speed and fluidity of the other hunter’s movements are the essence of its being. Yet, there is a small flourish. One movement, meant to be observed. Furthermore, it is something only the first hunter, would notice. A tip of the hat, or wink of the eye, it would seem. One small flourish, then away into the distance. The next hunting field just ahead.
