Hide and seek who’s it?

Hide and seek who’s it?

Not it! When was the last time those words were heard echoing across the yard? Those were the words that made ‘it’, out of whomever spoke them last.

Sounds like either a game of tag, or a game of hide and seek. Now there’s a game worth playing, every one except ‘it’ gets to hide. ‘It’, has to go around searching to find everyone, after they all hide.

Hide and seek who's it?

So how about it, want to play a game? I can’t be the only one that walks past that cabinet, and thinks how the bottom part would make a great hiding place. What cabinet? Any cabinet!

Hide and Seek

One ten minute game. How many times can the game be played in ten minutes? That depends on how long it takes to find the best hider. But ten minutes of playtime is a great goal!

This is also a great game to play indoors with the little ones. Trying to squeeze into a cramped hiding spot is sure to burn a calorie or two. Or stretch a muscle or two. Easy does it, because stretching a muscle is good, pulling one is not.

Next comes the mad dash back to base! Getting tagged would be the catalyst that makes a new ‘it’.

Even after the return to base, ‘it’ can still tag, if anyone strays too far from the base. Once all hiders are accounted for, a new game can be started.

Basic and simple. A game that only takes imagination and some contortion work depending on the desired hiding spot. The real story though, is that it’s fun and it’s exercise. That’s right, moving is good for the body!

So, next time there is time, for an outdoor game or two, don’t forget to say, not it! If it’s too late, and it’s all about to start happening with a little countdown and some hiding, so much the better! Hide and seek, who’s it?
