Lucky Pockets – Challenge of the naturals
The dice tumble. They settle on something, and the crowd goes wild. Stan is watching, but he’s only watching the crowd. Since the reopening of the Easy Eight, the crowds have been staggering. In fact, he will likely break a record again tonight. The new tables are state of the art, and the roulette wheel is a new model, straight from the manufacturer. Therefore, it appears the reopening, was a complete success.
With this in mind, he feels a little on edge. Considering what happened less than a month ago, it is hard to relax. Furthermore, he can’t get yesterday’s encounter with Lucky Pockets out of his mind. He frowns as he tries to grasp how a ghost could be so real. The thought is so strange, he stops in the middle of the Casino floor.
The crowd around the craps table cheers again. Another natural. Stan returns his attention to the crowd, and all the new patrons entering the casino. This was indeed going to be another record breaking night. And on the heels of that thought he wonders if Lucky Pockets is going to show up. The crowd at the craps table erupts in a mighty roar, as the tumbling dice land another natural.

He tried to warn Stan, again. Furthermore, he used an enormous amount of energy to manifest inside the office. They were nowhere near out of the woods yet. In fact, Lucky Pockets is sure the entity trying to invade the Easy Eight is only taking a moment to regroup. This means the next event would be even more intense.
Of course he hadn’t been able to utter so much as a squeak. Somehow, being a ghost has rules. He could move anywhere in the casino, just by thinking about it. Similarly he could appear, and disappear, at will. That is how he scared the daylights out of the repair crew. It was going great too. Until Stan told everyone about him. After that, he couldn’t even get a jump scare, from any of them.
However, none of that really mattered. What mattered was finding a way to prevent the entity from taking over. Therefore, he had to be clever in order to get around the ghost rules. So he wrote Stan a note. While Stan watched. It was pretty funny to watch Stan on the verge of a panicked retreat. It was only three words. That was all the energy he could summon to move the pen. And he could only hope Stan understood. Just three words: In the crowd.

The crowd around the craps table begins cheering again. Whoever is rolling the dice is a natural. And now, Stan moves further into the Casino. He is trying to keep a close eye on the crowd. However, he had no idea what he might be looking for. In the crowd is what Lucky Pockets wrote on the memo pad. He could still feel chills breaking out all over, as he remembered how the pen moved.
The crowd thickens as he makes his way to the back of the Casino. This is where the entrance to the restaurant is located. There appears to be a long line as he nears the area. Off to his right, are several rows of slot machines. At least thirty in this area alone. All are occupied. Many are paying jackpot after jackpot. Therefore the mood is extremely festive.
Stan feels himself relax slightly. And is glad for a break from the stress. This could be the beginning of a new chapter for the Easy Eight. He is smiling at the idea, when the screams begin, and everything changes.
