New Lab sixty four – The pawn ticket
The lab is secret. Its existence, is the reason the research that goes on there, remains top secret. In fact, Jenson has only ever seen the lab, once. In his time with the Rook Division, Jenson didn’t have much interest in the internal workings of the Division. He was better as a field agent.
With this in mind, his career path was never going to have a stellar trajectory. Jenson had too much wanderlust in him, for desk work. Furthermore, he was headstrong. After only a few years, he was unable to carry on in the Rook Division. He had trouble following orders. Therefore, he was not welcome in the Rook Division.
It wasn’t only about following orders. Some orders made sense. He didn’t feel any conflict, with an order that made sense. Or one that was not open ended. In the end it hadn’t really been the orders that ended his time with the Rook Division. It became about the intent behind the orders. The underlying framework. The evil beneath.
New Lab Sixty Four – The pawn ticket
Jenson downshifts the big-rig, and pulls the truck into the rest area. He was only three miles behind Tucker and the pawn ticket. In fact, he is waiting for them to get moving again. They have been stationary for almost ten minutes. this is more than a guess for Jenson. He has a tracker on Tucker. Furthermore, it is not easily detectable, and unknown to Tucker. Therefore, there was less risk that Tucker would give it away. Or let it slip inadvertently.
Jenson needed the tracker in order to find the lab. That was the hard thing about Lab sixty four, it was portable. Not portable like, pack it up and move it to a new camp ground. It was more of a, closest location, lab. Therefore, it could be located in close proximity to an event, or convenience. All by design. Renwell’s design.

The pawn ticket that found Tucker is not the first. In fact, fifty years ago it was a food ration book. The kind handed out during the great war of the last century. They had missed so many connections in the beginning. In fact, their ignorance was responsible for much lost data. However, there was no way they could have known then, what they were dealing with. So many aspects of the thing were far beyond where they were then.
Reconcile and Report
As Jenson parks the semi, he can’t help but wonder if Tucker will be the first to actually redeem the pawn ticket. It took the Rook Division years to get to the point of understanding, there is no separating the object from the owner. It is apparent they are using Tucker in a whole new way. This is what Jenson feared would happen. Furthermore, it is one of the reasons Jenson and his team are trying to help.
With this in mind, Jenson directs the rest of his team to hold steady at the rest stop. They were getting close to one of the locations of Lab Sixty Four. One thing Jenson could count on was Renwell’s aversion to change. He could only hope it was still the same. Jenson secured the big rig because his team was ready to do more than just rescue Tucker. Indeed, if not for Jenson and his plan, Tucker would still be safe in the hotel room.
It was time to end this with Renwell, once and for all. Jenson’s plans are finally coming to fruition. Once they reached Lab Sixty Four, the battle for all the marbles, would begin. Jenson checks the tracker while they wait. The vehicle with Tucker inside, is on the move again. Therefore Jenson puts the big semi truck in gear and signals the rest of the team. Time to move out.
Lab Sixty Four
This time they were going all the way in. Jenson has the big rig, and they were getting the machine this time. Renwell’s plans with the sinister secret council, are coming to an end. Additionally, there would be no more pawn ticket holders to experiment on. Jenson was finally taking care of what he promised, long ago. The end of the game was nigh.
