Pocket Wilderness Conflict: The snack attack at noon
Dan has been in this spot all day. It was one of his favorite spots, and also very secret. Whenever he needs to think or just be alone he comes to his favorite spot. This one. He liked it because it was isolated. It allows him to observe, without being observed.
Therefore, he hadn’t felt surprised to see more than a few strange things. However, he hadn’t been prepared for what he had seen a few moments ago. He was a duck of the pond, and a member of the pocket wilderness. Or at least he had been. He thinks about lovely Anna and the hatchlings.
Pocket Wilderness Conflict: The snack attack at noon
He felt relieved that they were safely in a neighboring wilderness. Especially considering what he had just seen. Dan gets up to waddle away, and immediately sits back down. He heard a noise. He absolutely can’t risk anyone seeing him.
While he waits for the all clear he thinks about all he has learned today. He came back to the Pocket wilderness today to tie up loose ends. Now he cannot wait to share with Anna all he has learned. He knows she will already have figured out most everything. A smile spreads across his bill. Anna was extraordinary in every way.

In the clearing, several of the chipmunk family are wandering around, as though lost. They are observing the scattered feathers curiously. Dan the duck doesn’t feel surprised. There’s more than a few. It had been quite a scene.
As he thinks back on it, he realizes he has more questions, than any hope for answers. Over in the clearing, the chipmunk kids take some of the scattered feathers. They used to belong to the parrot. Dan shudders thinking about what he saw.
Snack attack
It wasn’t surprising to see unusual things from this hiding spot. However, Dan hadn’t expected to see a parrot, meeting with alligators. It was unheard of. Furthermore, it just didn’t happen. However he had seen it happen. Moreover it became obvious the meeting had a sinister undertone.
Dan had heard everything with his own ears! Therefore, he is hiding. Anyone with the info he has, would be a walking target. The parrot was in cahoots with the alligators. Indeed, there was much no one knew. Dan had listened to all the details, as the parrot ranted and yelled at a tree.
The alligators and the parrot argued. The parrot had the seagull service guards standing by. However, it was of no use. The alligators had settled everything in three chomps. Dan shudders. It had been quick. Furthermore, the pocket wilderness no longer had a leader. And no one but Dan and the Alligators knew.
The chipmunk kids scoop a couple more feathers from the ground. Then they scamper off after their parents. Dan watches them until they are out of sight. It is time for him to leave. He must get back to Anna and the hatchlings.
Pocket Wilderness Conflict
He carefully and quietly waddles out from his hiding place. Not only does he need to return to Anna and the hatchlings, but also he needs to warn Rowdy Roy. He waddles to the side of the clearing and is ready to fly, when he is greeted unexpectedly.
“Hello duck, we need to have a little talk with you.” The alligator shows a very toothsome grin. Another alligator joins them on the edge of the clearing. With another toothsome grin. Dan has been cornered.
