Spring cleaning and a new focus on time

It’s that time of year again. Winter is winding down, and Spring is on the way. After such a long and chilly winter it’s a welcome change. Not only will there be warmer days, but also longer days. Longer days mean more time for outdoor work. And more daylight. Although there is an hour missing right out of the gate, it’s really just a new focus on time.

With this in mind, it’s sometimes unclear why losing an hour is the price of a longer day. In fact, it almost seems like a conundrum. In order to get a longer day, an hour must be removed. Furthermore, a new season is right around the corner. Spring. This usually means spring cleaning is also at hand.

However, spring cleaning doesn’t always involve heavy lifting. Likewise it isn’t always about, out with the old, in with the new. Sometimes spring cleaning is all about organization. Or bringing some order from chaos. As well as making up for that lost hour. It might take from now until fall to regain that hour, but with persistence it can be done.

Spring Cleaning

Ordinarily this update would appear on the editor page of this site. However, this article is a form of organization. There have been more than a few requests for a more organized set up in the categories menu option. The website design team is working diligently to make this happen.

One of the first things being developed is a table of contents for each category. Particularly the non subscription based categories. In other words, if the category has articles and stories, it is not a subscriber category. Similarly if the category is blank, it is either a subscriber area, or an e-book. If it is an e-book option, it will be available for purchase and download, in the e-book menu options.

Each non subscriber category selection, is from the newest to the oldest. This means the newest chapter of the story, or article, is the first to appear in the category. For categories with a large number of chapters, and a long timeline (such as Butterbeans) the first chapters are several pages back. And take time to find. The addition of a table of contents will make the first chapters readily available to read.

Spring Cleaning And A New Focus On Time

The lost hour conundrum is an interesting take on springing ahead. Losing an hour of sleep is no laughing matter. In fact, there are all sorts of studies and info on Google, about the effect of losing that hour. It isn’t pretty.

At least it happens on the weekend. If it has to happen, a weekend is likely the best time for it. Furthermore, it makes it easier to stay up late, real late. It’s still unclear where that hour goes. It’s possible that if it could be located, an organized effort would be made to reclaim it. As it stands, it might be best to hit the snooze button a few times. And if all else fails, take an unscheduled nap. That’s one way to get a new focus on time. Thanks for reading.
