The best unlimited plan is not the cheap one

The following article is about the definition of a single word. It’s interesting the amount of information that can be derived from one simple word. A word can be pivotal. It can also shed light. Furthermore, the same word can obscure just as much as it reveals. Whether that’s a right or wrong thing, depends on the context of its use. In fact, there is an old saying about how there is no right or wrong, only consequences.

With this in mind, if it’s unlimited, then there is no limit. In fact the New Oxford languages dictionary describes unlimited as: “not limited or restricted in terms of number, quantity, or extent“. This is the normal expectation when looking up the definition of unlimited. There are a few other examples but those words can wait for now.

This article isn’t about the technical points of the word unlimited. Once upon a time food buffets had an unlimited amount of food, for one small price. Most everyone understood it wasn’t a literal offering of unlimited food. There were stipulations and rules. For example, no carryout allowed. Or there were time limits on the deal.

The Best Unlimited Plan

This has a familiar feel to it. Almost like climbing a steep set of stairs to reach the top of a tower. Or starting at the Silver level and working up to the Gold level. Everyone wants to be on the Gold level. That’s the level that has all the perks. However, that is only what the ones who don’t know about the Platinum level think. The Platinum level members are the lucky ones. They have perks that would make the Gold level members do a double take.

It’s a great life over in the Platinum level tier. It’s almost like flying first class. Lots of perks and benefits that are unavailable for the Gold and Silver members. But nowhere near as many as the ones in the Diamond level. Yes indeed. The Diamond level is actually where it’s at. That’s the maximum value for the money.

Furthermore, it’s only available to Platinum members. And unlimited is just the beginning of unlimited. The unlimited plan is just the basic run of the mill unlimited deal. It’s not as comprehensive as the unlimited plus deal. There is an advantage in the plus deal that is not available in the standard, unlimited deal.

It’s Not the Cheap One

Maybe it isn’t so much in the definition, as it is how the definition expands to accommodate the need. For example, the unlimited power plus plan. More expensive than the unlimited plus, but with more expansive unlimited coverage. This would have been good to know back when unlimited buffets were so popular.

This article is not an unlimited article. In fact, its conclusion is near. And perhaps there is one takeaway from all this talk of the unlimited plan. A caveat to help with the limits of unlimited. Always read the “fine print”. Thanks for reading today.
