The challenging exercise of imagination at play

It was late afternoon and the day was very warm. We had been very busy with activities all afternoon. There had been a lot of scooter racing and bike riding. Additionally there were imagination games being played as we exercised.

This isn’t a tutorial or medical set-up for some new exercise pill. This is just kids and their parents hanging out and making do with imagination and activity. Furthermore, at times it was vigorous activity, depending on the imagined adventure.

At one point the traveling around became a game of starts and stops. This is a simple game made up from the events of the moment.😳 It was not easy! After a trip around the track (driveway) there was a stop to sit down and have a pretend snack! Then immediately up again for another trip around the track. Repeat the process forever and that was our game.

After the fourth time of sitting down and immediately getting back up again, I began to notice a difference. The little one was moving just as fast as he was when we started. If not faster! On the other hand, I was not! However, I was trying pretty vigorously.

That is when it began to feel like a good idea for an exercise article. Not really. In reality it was tough on the knees. Furthermore, since when did the ground get so far away? It’s one thing to sit down in a chair but quite another to sit down on the ground. And then get up, and then get back down again.

Imagination at play

It was a very good activity when combined with pedaling a bike around as well. Or scooter. Additionally it was the imagination that spurred the activity onward! Our game was a game of chase. Furthermore, there was the safety of a home base! The only way it worked was to sit on it! That was our exercise of imagination at play! Thanks for reading!
