The double down at the Easy Eight
Lucky Pockets is going to make this a memorable event. In fact, he is going to do something he’s never done before. He lets all the chips and money fall from the ceiling. Then he pauses, and focuses his thoughts. The energy he is using will leave him weak for days. But it will surely get some attention. And right now that is exactly what he wants.
Therefore, he closes his eyes. As all the chips and money rain down from the ceiling, he focuses on things solid. His thoughts become all things solid. Concrete, brick and stone. Then he thinks of steel and iron. As he thinks it, he feels himself changing. Furthermore, it isn’t painful, or alarming. In fact, it is the first time in a long time, that he has felt some real purpose.
The Double Down
The first time Stan opened the doors of the Easy Eight he knew it was destiny. Furthermore the crowds were better than average. It was a casino, and that brought in a steady stream of patrons. Of course there was the restaurant and the gift shops. And several other features of the Easy Eight, that drew in the crowds. However, through the years, Stan has never encountered anything like this.
All the chips and money, and playing cards, rain down from the ceiling. The lights begin flicking on and off again. All the elevator doors are closing and opening rapidly. The effect is chaos. Additionally, in the midst of all this, a human figure has appeared from thin air. Stan feels the hairs at the back of his neck stand on end, as chills race up his spine. He feels frozen to this spot. Stuck here in disbelief.
As he watches, the figure solidifies even more, and now Stan can make out the features of a face. A familiar face. The room is utterly quiet and Stan can hear his own heart beating. Then, the figure looks at him accusingly. Likewise, it seems to hover, before racing directly toward Stan. Furthermore, as it races across the casino floor, it is screaming loudly.
“STOP THEM….you must stop them.”
The Easy Eight and the Double Down
Lucky Pockets is exhausted. He spent the whole day in bed. Every time he thinks of getting up, he changes his mind. The casino is back to business, and soon he will join everyone, to spread some cheer. Surely by now there is an unsuspecting, albeit deserving, gambler in the making, looking for a lucky break. However, after his theatrics yesterday, he has been positively spent. In fact he may take tomorrow off as well.
He wants to join the casino tonight, but he isn’t sure if Stan, the owner, got his message. It’s going to take a minute for him to regain his energy. Especially after all his effort the previous day. As if reading his mind, the other half of his room rips apart, and the creature moves closer. He feels his panic build, and he knows he doesn’t have the energy, to fight it off. Again.
With this in mind, all he can do is hope that Stan will clue in. Something is wrong at the Easy Eight casino. Actually, something wrong has arrived at the Easy Eight. And it has the resident ghost, scared out of his mind. So to speak.
