The earnest work down on the farm

The sun rises early. So does the rooster. Down on the farm things are about to get busy. The break of day is the starting point. Additionally, the light will catch up as the chores begin. It’s the break of day. Therefore, the earnest work down on the farm, begins.

Today is like any day before. There is much to do and as usual, the sun will be set long before all the work is done. At least that is how it seems. In reality it isn’t like that at all. It’s about the mindset. There is actually enough time. For the priorities. The things that matter most.

On the farm, that is a little easier to see. Depending on the farm’s proximity to a town, or urban amenities, there might be an abundance of self-sufficiency. When a farm is mostly self-sufficient it has an advantage. Not only a natural advantage but also a financial one.

With this in mind, a farm with an abundance of self-sufficiency, functions best with earnest work. Work that begins at the break of day, and sometimes before. Furthermore, there is ample support work that goes into each task, or responsibility. In terms of work, the work is never really done.

Additionally, the type of farming matters. A dairy farm has an entirely different set of responsibilities than a corn farm. The work load is different. In fact the comparison is almost night and day.

Busy Schedule

The work is also a matter of scheduling. Most everything on a farm needs scheduling, to one degree or another. There is only so many daylight hours. Especially during winter time.

The important thing, perhaps the most important, is the start. Everyday down on the farm, needs a powerful start. Maybe that is why the rooster makes all the racket first thing in the morning. A prelude to a powerful start. Followed by some earnest work. All for the best day possible, down on the farm.
