The Gathering 2: Incipimus Iterum

It had been a long drive. In fact she had been on the road for almost four hours. She had left her home earlier this morning. Anticipating the long duration of the drive she had also brought refreshments. Kendra is sipping on a juice box, as she exits the highway at long last.

According to her GPS she was within fifteen minutes of her destination. Furthermore her destination was the mysterious address on the piece of parchment. She navigates the light flow of traffic while she thinks about the key again. It had been in the wooden box with all the intricate carvings and designs.

It had taken some doing, but she had finally figured out how to open the box. The key had been inside, along with the piece of parchment. The parchment was old. Additionally it had writing on it, however it was in a language Kendra was unfamiliar with. The only part that was intelligible to her had been this address.

As she turns onto a street adjacent to the one she seeks, the road becomes quiet and empty. The houses lining the side of the street, are large and from a bygone era. The neighborhood has the feel of an old forgotten district. She stops at the intersection and turns right. A moment later and she is arriving at a rather imposing structure that matches the GPS coordinates.

It is very large for a house, and feels more like a building. Kendra pulls her sedan in front of the structure. She is especially careful to avoid a pickup truck, parked in front of the large building. She notices there are lights glowing in the front windows and this eases her nerves ever so slightly.

Furthermore, she notices a rather professional looking woman entering the house now. She knew there had to be more to this. It is why she had felt so curious to see the location for herself. She feels another measure of relief. She gets out of her car, feeling curious and nervous as she walks toward the front door.

An Inland day

Jennifer applies her blinker and slows her car to make the turn. Another couple of blocks and she would be at the address. She feels a curious excitement as she nears the destination. Furthermore, she knows this is something extraordinary.

After finding the decorative and antique bottle in the chest on the beach, Jennifer had taken the chest home. Not only had it contained the bottle but also there was a key. When she had unsealed the wax seal from the bottle, the scroll inside, had easily slid free.

The scroll had been like an old parchment, and had contained this address. She had been even more astounded when she had looked it up on her maps app, and found it had an actual structure on it. The chances of her finding the antique chest, and its contents were one in a million. She had jumped at the chance to explore this mystery.

Meetings

As she pulls up to the structure she notices it is extremely large. More like a building than a house. There is a gentleman parked in front of the house and he is walking toward what looks like the front of the building. Jennifer parks her jeep behind the truck and holds for a minute. She now has a sense of nerves and she checks her GPS once more. And yes. She is indeed in the right place. With some apprehension she opens her door and steps out.
