The lost but not forgotten

The sunglasses were rare. And they weren’t just rare, they were also unique. The day they went missing was a normal day. They didn’t go missing because they grew legs. There has never been an observed, and reported case of sunglasses growing legs. Therefore it is more likely they were misplaced. And then forgotten.

With this in mind, the lost sunglasses did not reappear. Sometimes that is the end result of the lost item. However, it is still possible to remember most every detail about those shades. They were scratch resistant. Not a typical feature on most shades. Additionally, they were cool. They must have been special to be so prominent in memory.

That is a common denominator with lost things. Often remembered as special, or unique. Furthermore, special and unique things, usually inspire feelings of attachment. Therefore, it is difficult to lose something when feelings attach themselves. In fact, if the lost item was also useful in some way, the attachment may be even greater.

The Lost

This story starts like any other. There is a thing. Then it vanished. And perhaps it will stay that way. Isn’t it strange that some things cannot be forgotten, while other things slip from the mind like a cool summer breeze? In fact, it is common for things to be lost in this day and age. My Granny made the best homemade biscuits. She made them from scratch. In fact, from a recipe favored by folks who grew up in the South.

the lost

That’s the Southern United States. If it’s about the South, that’s the place in the United States. It has real people. Furthermore, in the South, horseshit politics are the same as the manure used to fertilize a good garden. The South has many attributes. Good ones. Many ignored now. Furthermore, it is the lost because of narrative. Moronic narrative meant to be argumentative, rather than thought provoking.

Evil is as evil does. Many of the things erased then became a false narrative. For example, shit that has nothing to do with a Southern biscuit recipe. However, some malcontent looking for attention is sure to flex some stupidity. Happens all the time. A clear example is the need to make a law to ban Congress from insider trading. It’s against the law for every other American but apparently the elected have a different set of rules.

Not Forgotten

It all relies on which story is currently the narrative. Furthermore, mainstream media is one of the worst fiction organizations. There is no soul in journalism anymore. Those days left when the bribe and coercion became the backbone of Congress. Welcome to the lost days of something that was once a wholesome idea.

Just like the sunglasses there isn’t much way to find them again. This is a huge topic. Mainly because the corruption is so deep. If not for X, there would be no counterbalance. Fortunately there is a place where both sides of a story can exist. Not just the narrative that one side pushes.
