The measure of immediately isn’t always in time

It isn’t always on time. That is one version of an old saying. There are other versions. However, they amount to the same. Time is relative. In one way or another, it’s relative. That is the essence of the old saying: Time flies when you’re having fun. Time itself hasn’t really changed. The only thing that’s changed is just the perception of time passing.

The word, immediately, is a measure of time. When used, the implied concept is right away. Furthermore, it is a reference to time. One that humans use. Everywhere else in nature, it is a simple reaction. Or action. And this is still about the word, immediately. It is about the human concept of right now. It is such a common ideal and pursuit, that anything about the nature of time is ignored. Or overlooked.

Things like, how much time is there to begin with? Who sets the timer, and who stops it? What if the concept of time didn’t exist? Of course the only way for that to happen would be to end time. Then what? Without time many things would change. Starting with the concept of immediately. Furthermore, there wouldn’t be aging anymore. And would that mean the aging of anything? For example, would cheese no longer age?

The Measure of Immediately

This is an interesting train of thought. Once it starts, it rolls forward naturally. And if there were no time to measure things by, then the idea of quickly, would no longer be relative. There’s no time. Time doesn’t exist. Therefore, any hurry would be useless. Except for the feeling of excitement. The excitement would then create a faster pace of activity. That somehow feels independent of time.

Opinion and speculation. That is what this article is derived from. The only provable fact in this article is that time does exist. Time is tangible without mass. It is a part of almost everything in existence. And it moves in one direction. We know this to be a truth, because as far as is known, no one has traveled back in time.

With this in mind, the word immediately, has its place in time. Its meaning is clear, and when used, conveys a sense of urgency. Another element of time is urgency. When something is urgent, almost everything needs to happen immediately. Two different words aligning to the same concept of time. Maybe the measure of immediately is always in time.
