The new casino rules and lucky pockets
Stan slams the door and walks down the hall. With each step, the lights in the ceiling flash on, then off. It is almost disorienting. However, Stan continues walking toward the Casino floor. The sounds from the activity in the Casino, get louder as he moves toward them. They are in the middle of their busiest season. Additionally, the crowds have increased in size this year.
Ordinarily this would be a source of excitement and pride. However, after the disturbance last night, Stan is feeling apprehensive. Furthermore, he’s starting to wonder if he should’ve tried to do something about Lucky Pockets sooner. However, he is at a loss as to what that would have looked like. Furthermore, who tries to get rid of a lucky ghost?
The door beside him opens slightly then slams loudly. Stan stops and looks around. Then, despite trying to remain calm, he snaps. Likewise, he shouts rather loudly to Lucky Pockets.
“That is IT! Enough! Cease this temper tantrum at once! I will not have any more nonsense! Either make your case or LEAVE Now!” Stan turns back toward the Casino and begins walking again.
The New Casino Rules
In the time between the grand opening of the casino, and the appearance of Lucky Pockets, things were routine. When Stan thinks back on it, that particular year was probably the least stress free year ever, at the Easy Eight. With this in mind, he is starting to think he wouldn’t have been able to do anything about Lucky Pockets anyway. After all, he was a lucky ghost.
At least that is what they have been telling themselves for a few years now. But were they right? It is true that nothing like what happened last night, has ever happened before. However, using the first-time excuse, isn’t exactly the scientific approach.
He makes it to the casino floor where there is much activity. Patron activity. At the moment, his ghost activity, seems to have ceased. Stan wanted to mingle with the guests while he waits for the glass repairman, and the insurance adjuster, to show. This is one of his favorite parts of his job. Meeting new people and improving the reputation of the Easy Eight Casino.
Lucky Pockets and the New Casino Rules
Stan walks slowly and watches the guests at their various games. He feels positive that the business with Lucky Pockets is manageable. If he can figure out what the ghost is so upset about. He is still thinking this when the Roulette Wheel from the nearby table begins spinning incredibly fast. It spins so fast the ball is ejected into the air. Then the wheel snaps free and floats upward. The guests are screaming now and fleeing the area.
The Roulette Wheel spins upward toward the ceiling and then plummets to the floor where it lands and rolls across the casino floor. The crowd of people move aside, as the wheel rolls toward them. Then it strikes the wall and falls over. Stan knows what has happened and he is not amused. However, before he can say a word every playing card in the casino blasts into the air. Then the chips do the same. Now the casino ceiling is covered in cards and chips. They appear to be stuck there.
Now the crowd of people are fleeing the casino altogether. It is a mad dash for the exits as all the slot machines begin dumping their coins and the handles start flapping up and down. Stan watches in disbelief. Furthermore, he can feel his frustration with Lucky Pockets boiling over.
Straight Flush
Stan is about to shout at Lucky Pockets again but what happens next causes his mouth to snap shut. He is standing in the middle of the, now empty, casino floor. He is slowly turning, as he takes in all the chaos. As the elevators come into his view, he sees a dark and brooding form there. Instinct immediately tells him he is seeing Lucky Pockets for the first time. However, his instincts could never have prepared him, for what happens next.
