The new house rules at the Easy Eight

Stan falls from the elevator. He rolls over on the floor, and pushes himself upright. As he catches his breath he can hear the screams coming from the Casino. And it sounds like all hell has broken loose. He grimaces as he tries to get back up again. The elevator ride from the upper floors had been an exercise in terror. Indeed, Stan tumbled back and forth, inside the elevator. He fought for his life the entire ride down.

As he regains his feet, the rapidly exiting crowd stuns him. They flee in a panicked, confused way. Furthermore, he can hear even more chaos coming from the Casino floor. It is a deafening cacophony of racket that sounds like every slot machine in the place has hit the jackpot. He stands upright and swoons.

He leans back against the elevator wall, and lets himself regain his composure. The elevator ride down was still with him. He came under attack the moment he entered the car. Invisible and ghostly, yet corporeal enough to pin him against the ceiling of the elevator car. By his neck. Stan fought with every ounce of his life, and finally won his release. Then the elevator doors opened in the lobby below.

The New House Rules

Now this. Everyone fleeing the Casino. So, what the hell is happening? Stan pushes away from the wall, and slowly walks against the current of exiting patrons. Then he notices that no one is going for the elevators. In fact, everyone is leaving the building. Rather than risk getting run over, Stan walks along the wall toward the Casino. He is trying to reach the small bar and grill, on the other side of the building.

With this in mind, the entire Casino floor is like a miniature hurricane. There is debris blowing everywhere. In fact, it is like a small cyclone has been unleashed inside the Casino. And as Stan shields his eyes, he struggles to get to the small bar and grille. Then, as he finally makes it to the Casino floor, he is struck from behind by something hard and unforgiving.

Stan falls to the floor, and very nearly loses consciousness. Similarly the ceiling lights are now landing around him. They are exploding in small pops as he gets back to his feet once again. It looks like he will have to fight for every inch of ground. And as he doubles over, and doubles down, the chaos in the Casino intensifies. Now Stan is wondering if he has lost his mind.

The New House Rules At The Easy Eight

Lucky Pockets is laying at the bottom of the elevator car. Moreover, he watched Stan make it out. Or, fall out of the elevator. It was a close one. In fact, Stan would be dead if Lucky Pockets hadn’t fought the thing in the elevator. And he fought tooth and nail. Furthermore, it was a stroke of good fortune that Lucky Pockets had shown up when he did. Otherwise it would have been too late. There would be new house rules.

With this in mind, it is obvious the entity has become stronger. It is now determined to remove Stan. Whether by proxy, or by trickery, there is no way Lucky Pockets is going to let that happen. Therefore he wills himself to move. He summons all his energy. Then he rises, and finds himself staring into the face of madness.
