The Troubled Toast

The Troubled Toast

This morning was a bust. Things were already runny because of the eggs. The grits were having none of it, and the bacon was just being crispy, at this point.

The toast was troubled, and that was unusual. Always solid and put together, the toast was never flaky, but today the toast was troubled. It had started with the coffee, and moved quickly to the juice. The tomato juice.

That was the likely culprit, although there was no way for the toast to confirm this. The eggs were in agreement, and had started running, however the grits were in the way.

There was a surprise appearance by the bisquits. This would have been the source of the toast’s troubles, if it had not been for the gravy. Everyone knows, biscuits and gravy go together.

It was starting to look like a wash, when the fruit showed up. Who doesn’t like strawberries? Bluberries are always a crowd favorite, and let’s face it, grapes are a superfruit.

Troubled Toast

But through it all, the toast was troubled, and there was no apparent reason why. Oh, there was butter, the toast had seen the butter. This was the only reason the toast was still on the plate.

A balanced event was happening. Lots of individual parts to make up one whole event. Each part important, and fundamental, in some way. All working together for a common goal.

Something was troubling the toast and it was time for a creative solution. The crispy bacon, runny eggs, and stolid grits had all split the scene. The toast was alone on the plate, and considering all the troubles from the gathering.

This was when the jelly arrived. The toast is troubled no more, because everyone knows that jelly toast, is the happy toast.
