Which is Better – Pancakes or Waffles?
Welcome, and do you like pancakes? How about waffles, instead? Maybe it’s the stack that gives the pancakes an edge, but waffles do have the cool design, so maybe waffles have an edge that is a little more dimensional.
Either one handles accessories with ease. Maple syrup, butter, fresh fruit, all these and more. Oh, and whipped cream, can’t forget the whipped cream.
I still can’t decide, I’ve been sidetracked with all those accessories.
Since this is coming down to a split decision, I decided it might be prudent to ask around and get some insights.
I pulled up Google, that sage, that search engine tell all. There is surely a wealth of info on which is better, pancakes or waffles.
There was, a lot. But better appeared to be relevant to the human variable. The last time I checked, I am a human, but that isn’t helping me decide which is better.
I searched a little more, and found more comparisons, then I bumped into this little bit of info:
“Both plain pancakes and waffles are lightly sweet and a little bready, although waffles are more so on both counts; they generally have more butter and sugar in the batter and become more caramelized during cooking, so they taste a little richer and more pastry-like.” (source=google)
Now we’re getting somewhere, and it’s definitely a good somewhere. Griddle or waffle iron about to be decided.
The decision. Always a tough one when the odds are 50/50. Fluffy and light and stacked just right, those pancakes are looking fine. Caramelized during cooking, richer and more pastry like, is also first on my mind. Eureka! Got it!
I’ll do both and decide after I’m done eating. That was easy! Thanks google!
