Spring has sprung and the warmer weather has begun. A welcome change from the cold temperatures of winter. Soon the summer season will begin and along with it, the hot weather. Furthermore, there are important things to keep in mind when the heat kicks in. In fact, too much heat can be dangerous. And not the Habanero kind. Although that is a dangerous kind of heat on wings. But oh so delicious.

Too much heat can be dangerous because it leads to heat exhaustion. Or things like heat stroke. There can even be cramping associated with dehydration from heat exposure. With this in mind, being in excessive heat conditions can be dangerous. Therefore, if it is unavoidable, being prepared is the next best thing.

Hydration is key. Staying hydrated is the ultimate goal. Especially if outdoor exposure is going to be an all day thing. Working on hydration the night before is a best practice. Not only does this give the body time to strengthen but also it keeps it regulated. For example, less bloating from increased fluid intake during the heat. Hot weather health is a strategy, as much as it is a guideline.

Taking frequent breaks from the heat is another way to manage the effects of the heat. Doing this, and staying hydrated, are effective ways to avoid heat exhaustion. Or heat related illness. Likewise, wearing less clothing can reduce the effects of excessive heat. Nudity is probably best, but most likely it will be frowned upon outside of the house.

Finding shade, and getting a break from direct sunlight, is another way to improve hot weather health. Furthermore, it is a simple way to avoid sunburn. So is wearing a hat. Particularly for those with thinning hair. Likewise those who are sensitive to the effects of exposure.
