Incipimus Iterum and the Gathering
(Chapter eight) It was late afternoon and the skies were cloudy. The day wasn’t hot but the breeze was humid and smelled of approaching summer. Allison is standing on the sidewalk, looking up at the imposing structure. The place is definitely old.
The day was Monday, and she was fresh out of a job. She had just come from terminating her employment at the diner. She had taken the advice of the elderly couple, and not returned other than to quit.

Furthermore, she was not going to have to worry about finances for a time. The paper the elderly couple had handed her, had been a very generous check. Allison is still stunned. The couple had left almost immediately. Allison had been left speechless and with many questions.

However, she would be able to get along better now. She no longer needed the hours at the diner. She would be able to study full time. At least until she completed her pilot’s license training. The breeze stirs again. The house sits large, and has the feel of immense age.
As she looks around the front of the building for the entry door she marvels again at the events that have brought her here. Especially the strange and intricately carved, wooden box. It is within the strange box that she found a key to this old building. Additionally there had been another piece of paper. This is how she knew where to use the key.
The Keys
Jonah slows the truck at the intersection. According to the GPS he should be within a few blocks of the address. He is eager to find the place. It has been on his mind since the previous week. In fact, this isn’t a prospective renovation, or new construction. Indeed, it wasn’t work related at all.
He takes the next left as per the map. It is obvious this is the older part of the city. He is very near the historic district now. With this in mind, he can feel his intrigue with the whole thing, growing by the minute.
He looks at the old, strangely designed key. He had found it inside the box. Furthermore, he had found a very old piece of paper. Or maybe parchment was a better description. There appeared to be some very ancient script or writing. He couldn’t be sure. The one thing he could discern was this address.
The Gathering
The one he was pulling up on now. It was a much larger house than he had expected. As he takes in the structure it becomes clear it is much more a building than a house. Its sheer size gives it the feeling of belonging in a business district.
Jonah pulls up to the curb in front of the structure. It is set some ways from the road. However, the street is mostly empty and quiet. As Jonah gets out of his truck he notices the front door of the structure opening, to allow a young woman access to the interior. Now he feels even more intrigued, as he makes his way to the door as well.
