The cover up under the pool – Part Two

One month ago Danny Lissington uncovered something while digging a place for his backyard pool. Since then, everything has changed. He no longer cares about a pool. In fact, he doesn’t care about anything, except what he found buried beneath the pool. To say that he is a changed man, is an understatement. As he places the sphere back in its container, the doorbell of his home, chimes softly. It’s time.

The Cover Up

When Danny decided to dig his own pool, he studied everything he could find about pools. Until, at last, he was certain he knew almost everything about building a pool. Forearmed with this knowledge, he had an impressive start. In fact, it was possible to see the size and scope, of his project. He was a classic do it yourself guy. Even rented his own backhoe for the job.

Now as he walks to the front door, he sees the tarp covering the incomplete pool has been blown aside by the wind. He will have to cover that back up. What is under there is his. And he will keep it to himself. Besides, he knows it will be confiscated, if word gets out, about what he has found. Therefore he keeps the area covered.

Furthermore, he isn’t concerned about nosy neighbors. They all believe he is waiting for a permit. He let the story circulate that there are certain things he needed to square away before he could get the permit. As far as he can tell no one suspects anything. Additionally he took some paid leave from work, so he is okay there as well. Now as he opens the front door he is eager to get started on the plan.

Under the Pool

Of course the world is full of unknown things. It is said, that we are not even remotely aware, of all we don’t know. What Danny has found under the pool is just such a thing. It may even be a place. It is difficult to say at this point, because he is still learning. Each time he is with the sphere he learns more. However it is a time consuming process. The sphere isn’t from this world. Or even this dimension.

That is what was so hard to fathom. Danny knows what he has found is unique and possibly even dangerous. When he first encountered the sphere, it was an accident. Moreover, it was the first time he went into the structure under the pool. It is why he wants to cover up the structure, without alerting anyone.

Danny retrieves the package at his door. Then he closes the door and returns to his living room. He sets the package down and decides he still has time. So he picks up the sphere again, and looks deep inside. He has much to learn.
