The Pocket Wilderness Conflict, Uh oh Dan

Uh oh, Dan quickly waddles out of the way. There is chaos everywhere. The entire pocket wilderness was in an uproar! Imagine! Roy the rowdy rhino being arrested! Dan is stunned as he listens to Mr. Badger. The arrest had occurred earlier that morning!

Furthermore the details were very sketchy. Of course the entire badger family thought this was cause for alarm! In the history of the pocket wilderness, there had never been a situation like this! Roy had been the leader before that strange parrot had taken over.

Dan can’t help but wonder if Roy will still want to go through with the plan. Moreover, there were new problems, if so. For example, there would be no delivery of the papers today. Dan didn’t even know where they had taken Roy! Suddenly he has an idea.

Wilderness Conflict

He has been concerned about this, since the other day at the pond, with the squirrels. This could be critical information for later use. Therefore he waits patiently for Mr. Badger to finish his animated recounting. And then proceeds to ask his question.

“Mr. Badger have you seen the alligators recently? Just the other day Roy and I encountered them. We are looking for all the intel possible on the alligators.”

Mr. Badger blinks at Dan. He fixes Dan with a curious gaze. What he says next catches Dan off guard.

“What Alligators? There haven’t been alligators in the pocket wilderness in years. You must be careful starting rumors Dan. It isn’t safe or responsible to ask odd questions that could stir a panic.”

The Pocket Wilderness Conflict, Uh oh Dan

Dan feels stunned and more than a little confused. The alligators were here. They were already in the pond. Roy the Rowdy rhino had seen them attack Dan. The squirrels had even thwarted the attack, and yet no one in the pocket wilderness, has heard of this?

This was nuts! Dan couldn’t make sense of it. The squirrels worked as reporters for the Tree Trunk Daily news. Their reports were always the first ones anyone would see in the pocket wilderness. It was how everyone stayed on the same page. Furthermore, it was one of the only sources for learning the truth.

Uh oh Dan

Something was terribly wrong here. The pocket wilderness is under attack. Their leader was a compromised parrot that denied everything, and worked harder at derision than unity. Not only was Dan feeling perplexed but also determined. Anna and his family were living in this place, as well as many other families.

“Dan? Hello Dan? Are you still with us?” Mr. Badger grins at Dan, and continues to look him over closely. “You zoned out there for a minute. Say Dan, did you say that you and Roy had seen the alligators?” Dan notices that Mr. Badger is watching him very closely now. Moreover, almost too closely.

He gives Mr. Badger a smile he hopes is convincing before replying, “We thought we had seen the alligators, but perhaps we were wrong.” Dan watches Mr. Badger closely now. The look of interest seems to leave Mr. Badger’s face, and he smiles at Dan.

Pocket Wilderness

“That is entirely possible Dan, anyone can make a mistake! We must be on our way now, we want to see where they are taking Rowdy Roy! Please give our best regards to Anna! And good day to you Dan!”

Mr. Badger hurries off to catch up to his family. And Dan stands in silent shock. Sam the Sloth was the editor of the Tree Trunk Daily news. Additionally, Sam was Dan’s friend. With this in mind, he thinks it might be time to ask for his friend’s help. Things were getting serious, and the pocket wilderness was in trouble.
